ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION:
Blacktop:
Vega’s quote to blacktop portions of all of Clark Road and Beechwood is $17,310.00 at $0.75 per square foot to key
in and overlay.
Grading Project:
Bill Keneally , a local resident and contractor, will provide 10 loads of reprocessed material for grading at $350/trailer
plus labor and machinery.
The streets proposed for this year’s grading are (not in order of importance):
Spruce, South, Evergreen, Meadow, Orchard, Oak, Wildwood, Ledge, Summit, Dale, Azalea, Shore, 1st, 2nd,
3rd, 4th, and 5th.
RESULTS:
Clark Road:
Mark made a motion to commit a minimum of 30% of collected betterment fees with a maximum of $8,000 to
be devoted to Clark Road repair annually for the next 2 years. Beth seconded the motion. A lively discussion followed. The
motion was passed by an 8 to 4 majority.
Prior allocations for Clark Road work that was not done last fall, part of 2003 Financial Budget, was added to the $8,000
to bring the availability of funds for this project to $11,600.
Pat made a motion to allocate $2,000 to complete the needed funds for Clark Road alone. Beth seconded the motion. The vote
was 5 to 5. As president Jim Silva cast the tie breaking vote and the motion was defeated.
Work should begin mid June.
Annual Grading Project:
Beth made a motion to allocate $4,700, with a maximum of $7,500, to grade this year’s proposed roads. Nancy seconded
the motion. Passed by all. Dave agreed to locate the drain at 2nd and Shore Ave to correct the problem drainage
in this area.
Other Paved Roads:
Beth made a motion to allocate $2,000 to overlay the problem areas on Birch and Beechwood. Justin seconded the motion.
The motion was passed by all.
The work will be done at the same time as the paving on Clark Road.
Steve King, 4 Helen St., volunteered to use his asphalt cutter when needed. Thank you Steve, volunteers are few and greatly
appreciated.
